How much should I tip?
In the US: 15-20% for sit-down restaurants, 10-15% for takeout/delivery. In India: 5-10% or round up. In Europe/Australia: tipping is optional (service included). Always check if service charge is already added.
How is tip calculated?
Tip Amount = Bill × (Tip Percentage ÷ 100). Total = Bill + Tip. Per person = Total ÷ Number of people.
Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax amount?
Etiquette says tip on the pre-tax subtotal. But most people tip on the total (including tax) for simplicity. Either is acceptable.
How do I split the bill evenly?
