How is this calculated?
Current Grade:
  Weighted % = Σ(Score/Total × Weight) ÷ Σ(Weights)

What Do I Need?:
  Required = (Desired - Current × (1 - FinalWeight)) ÷ FinalWeight

Weighted GPA:
  Semester GPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credits) ÷ Total Credits
  Cumulative = (SemGPA×SemCredits + PriorGPA×PriorCredits) ÷ AllCredits

US 4.0 Scale: A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, B-=2.7, C+=2.3, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0
UK Honours: 1st≥70%, 2:1=60-69%, 2:2=50-59%, 3rd=40-49%
Indian 10-point: based on percentage ÷ 10 (varies by university)

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about grades

What grade do I need to pass?
Most US institutions require a minimum D (60%) or C (70%) to pass. UK universities typically require 40% for a pass/third-class degree. Check your specific institution's requirements as they can vary significantly between courses.
How do I calculate my weighted grade?
Multiply each assignment score by its weight (as a decimal), then add all weighted scores. Formula: Weighted Grade = Σ(Score × Weight). For example: Exam 80% × 0.40 weight + Homework 90% × 0.30 + Quiz 75% × 0.30 = 32 + 27 + 22.5 = 81.5%
What is a 3.5 GPA equivalent to in percentage?
A 3.5 GPA is roughly equivalent to 87–89% (A-/B+ range) on the US 4.0 scale. On the Indian 10-point scale, it would be approximately 85%. Exact conversions vary by institution.
How is GPA calculated?
GPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours. Each letter grade has a point value (A=4.0, B=3.0, etc.). Multiply by credits for each course, sum them all, then divide by total credits.
What is a first-class degree in UK?
A First-class degree (1st) requires an average of 70% or above in the UK honours system. Upper Second (2:1) is 60–69%, Lower Second (2:2) is 50–59%, Third is 40–49%, and below 40% is a fail.
