FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I measure my foot size accurately?
Stand on a piece of paper with your heel against a wall. Mark the longest point of your foot (usually the big toe or second toe). Measure the distance in centimeters. Do this for both feet in the afternoon (feet swell during the day) while wearing your typical socks. Use the larger measurement for sizing.
What is the difference between US and UK shoe sizes?
For men, US sizes are typically 1 size larger than UK sizes (US 10 = UK 9). For women, US sizes are 2 sizes larger than UK sizes (US 8 = UK 6). The actual foot length each size represents is the same between systems — only the numbering differs.
How do EU shoe sizes work?
EU (European/Paris point) sizes are based on the "Paris point" unit, where each size increment equals 6.67mm (2/3 cm). EU sizes don't differ between men and women — a EU 42 is the same physical size regardless of gender. The formula is approximately: EU = (foot length in cm + 1.5) × 1.5.
Why do my shoe size differ between brands?
Shoe sizing isn't perfectly standardized. Brands use different lasts (foot molds), have different ideas of "fitting room" and "wearing comfort." Athletic shoes often run half a size larger. European brands may size differently than American ones. Always try shoes on or check brand-specific size charts when possible.
Should I size up or down if between sizes?
Generally size up. It's easier to add an insole or wear thicker socks than to stretch a too-tight shoe. For athletic shoes, many experts recommend a thumb's width (about 1 cm) between your longest toe and the shoe tip. For dress shoes, a snug fit is acceptable as leather stretches slightly over time.
