Estimated Ovulation Date
—
How is this calculated?
Formula: Calendar-based ovulation prediction using luteal phase constant.
Ovulation Day:
Ovulation = Last Period Start + Cycle Length − 14
Fertile Window (6 days):
Start = Ovulation − 5 days
End = Ovulation + 1 day
Next Period:
Next Period = Last Period Start + Cycle Length
Best Days to Conceive:
Ovulation − 2 to Ovulation (highest probability) Calculation history

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is this ovulation calculator?
This calculator estimates ovulation based on average cycle length, assuming ovulation occurs 14 days before the next period. It works well for regular cycles but is less reliable for irregular ones. For more precise tracking, consider combining this with basal body temperature, cervical mucus monitoring, or ovulation predictor kits (OPKs).
What is the fertile window?
The fertile window is the approximately 6-day period when pregnancy is possible — the 5 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation itself. Sperm can survive up to 5 days in the reproductive tract, while the egg is viable for only 12–24 hours after release. The highest chance of conception is 1–2 days before ovulation.
Can I get pregnant outside the fertile window?
Pregnancy is highly unlikely outside the fertile window. However, since ovulation timing can vary cycle to cycle (even in regular cycles), and sperm survival time varies, there is always some uncertainty. This is why calendar-based methods alone are not highly effective for contraception.
Does cycle length affect ovulation day?
Yes. Ovulation typically occurs 14 days before the next period, not 14 days after the last one. In a 28-day cycle, ovulation is around day 14. In a 35-day cycle, ovulation would be around day 21. In a 21-day cycle, ovulation would be around day 7. The days before ovulation (follicular phase) vary; the days after (luteal phase) are relatively constant at ~14 days.
What are the signs of ovulation?
Common ovulation signs include: a slight rise in basal body temperature (0.2–0.5°C), changes in cervical mucus (becoming clear, stretchy, and egg-white-like), mild pelvic pain or cramping (mittelschmerz), increased libido, breast tenderness, and a positive ovulation predictor kit (LH surge). Not everyone experiences all signs.
